The Kiwanis Club of Raleigh welcomes former North Carolina State Representative, retired Brigadier General, and longtime club member Gary Pendleton for a special presentation commemorating D-Day and the Allied landings at Normandy during World War II.
Timed near the anniversary of June 6, 1944, Pendleton’s presentation will reflect on one of history’s most significant military operations — the invasion of Normandy that marked the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe during the war. Drawing from his military background and lifelong interest in history and leadership, Pendleton will share insights into the planning, sacrifice, strategy, and enduring lessons of D-Day.
A retired Brigadier General, former Wake County Commissioner, and former member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, Pendleton brings a unique perspective to this important moment in world history and remembrance.
