Lorrin Freeman has dedicated more than three decades to public service and the North Carolina justice system. Since 2014, she has served as Wake County District Attorney, overseeing the prosecution of criminal cases and working with law enforcement, victims, and community partners throughout Wake County.

Before becoming District Attorney, Freeman served two elected terms as Wake County Clerk of Superior Court from 2006 to 2014. During her tenure, she focused on modernizing courthouse operations, improving accessibility, and managing a staff of more than 150 employees. She previously served as an Assistant District Attorney and Assistant Attorney General with the North Carolina Department of Justice.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned both her undergraduate and law degrees, Freeman has also been active in numerous community and statewide leadership organizations.

Her career has been marked by a longstanding commitment to public service, the administration of justice, and the Wake County community.
